Strategy
Ironhold Dominion
★★★★☆ 4.4
Ironhold Dominion drops you on a contested map where you grow a settlement, manage resources, and fend off rival factions. What sets it apart is how much thought the defensive layer gets — walls, terrain and unit placement all matter, so turtling up is a real strategy rather than a death sentence.
The interface is the most impressive part. Managing a sprawling base on a phone screen could be a nightmare, but the devs use clean radial menus and pinch-zoom that actually works. I never felt like I was fighting the controls to issue an order.
Progress is steady and the AI opponents escalate at a fair clip. It asks for patience, and if you're a pick-up-and-play type it might feel slow. For planners, though, it's a quiet joy.
