Hollowlight Descent
★★★★★ 4.6
Hollowlight Descent is an atmospheric adventure where you climb down through the ruins of a buried city, solving environmental puzzles and piecing together what happened. It leans on mood — dim lanterns, echoing caverns, a soundtrack that knows when to go quiet.
The puzzles are physical and tactile: swing a rope, redirect light, move a beam of water. Nothing is obtuse, but the game trusts you to look around and experiment. Swipe controls felt natural, and I rarely got stuck in menus.
It's a shorter experience, maybe six or seven hours, and it's better for it. Every room feels placed with intent. I finished it in two evenings and immediately wanted to talk about the ending.
